If you watched Jack Chan’s movie, “The Tuxedo” (whose title I used in this post) and gave good laughs, watched Robocop without giving more importance or've read some Iron Man’s adventure thinking that all these graphics or film productions are pure nonsense, beware! Review your concepts!
Actually the fiction writers imagination provided Science plenty of reasons to overcome the technology limitations . Combined with this fact, the previously mentioned desire to feel superhuman, often forgetting our innermost values, worshiping resistance or indestructibility of matter that composes us, made us reach a framework if not bizarre, surreal.
After all, who in a situation of danger or panic would not want to be transformed, instantly, into the Incredible Hulk (without necessarily having to be green), or see your body take an armour that confer extreme resistance, strength, speed and protection?
On the military side, the ideal army is the one who can kill without dying !
Lockheed Martin, (that same of the aircrafts) makes the final tests in HULC (Human Universal Load Carrier). It is the real version of the 2 million dollars suit ! A little cheaper actually.Just 1.1 U$. HULC is the final outfit of an exoskeleton.
An exoskeleton is a kind of armour equipped with a power supply that gives the person who wears protection and a significant increase in physical capabilities . Completely computerized the armour is able to "feel" the wishes of the person who wears it.So to go left or right or run, there’s no need to press any button, as in Jackie Chan’s watch It’s enough to go.
A soldier wearing the HULC is able to walk several miles carrying a weight around 100 kg, running much faster than a man in normal suit the armour reduces oxygen uptake to significant levels.
The American government contract with Lockheed Martin provides testing in the open which means that some army or insurgents fought "androids" without having the slightest idea of what they faced!
Although the main uses are facing the military, painting a bleak picture (in my opinion), the technology used in the allied bionic exoskeletons can and will encourage people with special needs and even those with war mutilations .
Many companies are engaged in the same way, to build their prototypes aiming a promising market of supermen , including Raytheon, Cyberdine, Honda and the MIT biomechatronics personnel. They already have their designs.
We hope that all this progress does not cherish the pride of a new "tribe" that may appear in the near future, that causes someone posted on a corner crying, "I HAVE THE POOOOWEERRRR !”
